Prime Minister of Terra Mariana: Difference between revisions

The term of a Prime Minister lasts 504 hours (3 weeks) and the candidates can be re-elected for a maximum of 2 consecutive terms. The current end of a Prime Minister's term is set at 17:00 UTC of the day of the end of the term. As stated in the [[Terra Mariana]] Constitution, the Prime Minister has half the power of the King and able to manage the ministries, the bureaus and the departments of the government. His main duty though is to assign or reassign the ministries of the Ministers - more well-known as the Royal Councillors.  

The process starts 168 hours before the end of the current Prime Minister's term.

The Royal Councillors that want to candidate to the election have 24 hours to let the King know. In order for a candidate to take part to the election, he has to be accepted by the King.

In this election, the contestors were: [[Alan_Lime]], [[eke223]], [[emmettaaron]] and [[ondrag1]]. All of those candidates did not participate in the last election except for [[eke223]]. None of those candidates were former Prime Ministers. All of the candidates were in the Royal Council. The jobs can be seen in [[Terra Mariana|<u>Terra Mariana</u>]] under "Government".

There were multiple discussions about the Prime Minister election, like eleborating on someone's posters and some memes too. There were heavy discussions between [[eke223]] and [[emmettaaron]]. Mostly about their posters and how they want to implement their ideas in the nation. According to some the 'most thrilling election ever'.

[[File:Finalresult.png|centre|thumb|247x247px|Final results]][[eke223]] would have won if the law 1.2b of the Terra Mariana Constitution didn't forbid this. Since there was only a 5% difference between [[eke223's]] and [[emmettaaron|emmettaaron's]] votes, the Supreme Court decided who to vote as the Prime Minister within an hour. The Royal Councillors [[Alan_Lime]], [[Pickled_Cheetos]] and [[TommyJ2]] decided [[emmettaaron]] should be the 2nd Prime Minister. At 18:00 UTC on the 24th of April [[emmettaaron]] gained the role of Prime Minister in the government.

This was the first Terra Mariana Prime Minister election. The only candidates were the two Royal Councillors -[[nicosecci]] and [[eke223]].

His campaign was made up of 3 posters. The ideas brought up by the candidate were changing the flag of [[Hiiumaa]], speeding up the [[CTM]] lines by 60% and the creation of a national shopping district. The design followed a simple pattern - A simplistic backround with warm and cold colours shaped in triangles. A text is added onto it describing his standpoint, as well as a headline. In the lower right hand corner, there is a text saying "Vote for eke223" on every poster.

His campaign was made up of 3 posters. The ideas brought up by the candidate were the creation of a free Cepelin distribution for the citizens, the cure of historical buildings and artifacts and the creation of a fund for the creation of buildings in the nation. The posters followed a more complex pattern than eke's - a blurred screenshot as the backround with a dotted line surrounding it. In the lower left hand corner, a text saying "Vote for Nicosecci" can be spotted. Most importantly, a small text concerning his ideas can be seen with a larger quote by him regarding it. In the lower right hand corner, a logo with some text can be viewed.

The main discussion that took place was about the change of [[Hiiumaa]]'s flag, which was strongly criticized. [[nicosecci]] was strongly opposing that decision as well. There were rather long discussions about nicosecci's

 

and eke223's ideas.

The election started on the 3rd April 2020 at 12:00 UTC and lasted 24 hours. The results were announced 4 minutes after the end of the polls, resulting in 8 votes for [[eke223]] and 11 votes for [[nicosecci]] with a voting turnout of 37%.
