The Earth Football League, commonly referred to as simply the EFL, is an gridiron football sports league on EarthMC. It is based on the real-life National Football League, and uses a rulebook similar to that of American football. It currently consists of 8 teams with rosters ranging between four to eight players. It was founded on January 15th, 2022, by ZGamerz_123. It was played with a new concept which ZGamerz conceived to recreate American Football in Minecraft. It has played seven seasons, with the eighth currently in progress.
History
Beginnings
The EFL was established by ZGamerz_123 on January 15th, 2022. The league was originally named the NFL, sharing the name as the real-life league. It was renamed the the Earth Football League ten days after founding. It began with several test games in ZGamerz's town of Tallahassee, CSA, and a few others across the world, such as in Rigy, SSRBV. The league held its inaugural draft in February, and games began being played in March.
Season I
The first EFL season, commonly referred to as Season 1, Season I, or simply S1, consisted of four weeks. Below are the final standings.

Season I Postseason
After the season concluded three weeks later, the playoff picture was decided. The first game had the Alaska Wolves playing the Tallahassee Confederates in Tallahassee. The Confederates prevailed. Later, the Cuban Calamities bested the Atlantean Tridents. In the semifinals, The Texas Lonestars defeated the Tallahassee Confederates via a forfeit win, sending them to Super Bowl I. The Minneapolis Meanders bested the Cuban Calamities, to officially set up the first Super Bowl. The Super Bowl included an appearance from the server owner, Fix. The game concluded with a win by Minneapolis following ACSK3 being tackled a few yards short of the endzone on the final play, crowning the Meanders as world champions. FBI_Bro was the game's Most Valuable Players (MVP).

Season II
Season II was delayed several months due to the rival AFL, created by disgruntled EFL members. This caused ZGamerz to resign and become the co-commissioner to NFISH2021. The AFL merged with the EFL, and Season II began in July, 2022. All teams held the same names except for Cuba relocating to Morocco due to war, and Minneapolis relocating to Ho Chi Minh. Malso_ would also be appointed co-commissioner midseason. Below are the final standings.

Season II Postseason
After the season concluded, the postseason began with the Ho Chi Minh Hueys beating the Texas Lonestars, and the Alaska Wolves defeated the Morocco Gazelles in Alaska. The Wolves played the Atlantean Tridents in what many consider to be the greatest game of all time, in which the Wolves outlasted the Tridents. Afterwards, the Confederates lost to the Ho Chi Minh Hueys via yet another forfeit, sending Ho Chi Minh to the Super Bowl with Alaska. In Super Bowl II between the Alaska Orcas and Ho Chi Minh Hueys, the game concluded with an Orcas win.

Season III
Season III
Season III began on January 15th, 2023, the one year anniversary of the Earth Football League. The league expanded their season to 7 games. They have also reset teams and their rosters. All teams reset due to the EarthMC reset, except for their owners. The final S3 standings can be seen below.

Season III Postseason
The Season III postseason began with Santa Fe forfeiting to Club America and a thrilling stunner having the Bills beat the Bengals 33-32. In the conference finals, the Orcas destroyed the Aguilas 70-35, while the Cowboys beat the Bills 42-35 to advance to the Super Bowl, holding off Buffalo on the final play. In Super Bowl III in Fairbanks, Alaska, the Orcas beat the Cowboys at home in a Super Bowl ridden with lag and controversial officiating, with the score of 49-42 to become World Champions. The Orcas completed the first repeat in EFL history, becoming the best and most successful franchise in the league, before renaming to the Philadelphia Eagles.

Season IV
Following an unsuccessful attempt to finish Season IV, the original Super Bowl IV was cancelled due to a boycott by both teams over the location of the Super Bowl (EarthMC vs Aternos), leading to a reboot into Season V, which would lead to the league's decline, up until a breaking point with poor officiating, leading to an attempted coup, and subsequent revolt to form a new American football league, which would soon be dubbed the name of NFLEMC. Season IV was the season of the Next Era of Earth Football, the league held games on Aternos for the first time. This season was the 1st season of NFL (EMC), but for the purposes of record keeping, the EFL considers this Season IV. Every team was based off an NFL team and we finally saw EFL Commissioner ZGamerz_123 win a ring with Derp0716. Here are the standings below.

Season IV Postseason
The Season IV postseason started with first time MVP Dres1 fighting it out against Bears QB LukeDCool for the first time of many times, we saw a final score of 44-31 where the Eagles looked to three-peat. In the AFC we saw the #1 Seed Kansas City Chiefs lose to Derp0716's led Pittsburgh Steelers 84-70 in an offensive shootout that required no mistakes in order to win — one of the highest scoring games in EFL history. Super Bowl IV was held in the Pleasure Dome in Texas, the Pittsburgh Steelers pulled off the upset vs the 7-0 Philadelphia Eagles in the Super Bowl with a final score of 44-32. This also marked the first time Category:Lore Items (Aurora) were introduced to the EFL.

Season V
Season V was the first time we saw a New Coming QB in Sflucx win a Super Bowl as the starting QB, the league expanded to a historic 12 teams along with 4 divisions, 2 in the AFC and 2 in the NFC. The EFL also brought back the 6 team playoff bracket. this was the final season of NFL (EMC). This season lasted from August 2024 - November 2024, here are the standings below.

Season V Postseason
Season V brings back the 6 team postseason playoff format with 3 teams representing the AFC and 3 teams representing the NFC. For the Divisional round we see an AFCCG rematch between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Pittsburgh Steelers, the score was a final of 56-36 with the Steelers advancing to the AFCCG once again. In the NFC, the Eagles show mercy and absolutely derail the Minnesota Vikings with a final score of 62-20. In the AFCCG the Steelers pull out another upset vs the 7-1 Baltimore Ravens with a final score of 82-16, looking for a chance to repeat in the Super Bowl. In the NFC we had argubly the game of the year with the Chicago Bears and Sflucx kicking a game winning field goal as time expires to advance the Bears over the Eagles 43-41 to go to the Super Bowl. This Super Bowl was hosted in Poland where the 2024 World Cup was hosted. As the Steelers look to repeat, the Bears show no mercy by defeating them 48-28 crowning Chicago as Super Bowl champions.

Season VI
Season VI was the end of the NFL, many of the team owners in the NFL wanted to bring back the EFL, including longtime commissioners ZGamerz_123 and Malso_, who were upset with the current condition of the tumultous leadership in the league, leading to a longing for the glory days of the original EFL. These teams are based off of historic EFL Franchises which the Lonestars, Meanders, Confederates, etc. all come back to life, along with this the OFC and GFC are brought back and reshuffled. This season brought back the meaning of EMC Football and along with that we saw Derp0716 take home his second championship ring in 3 seasons along with Sflucx being argued as one of the GOAT's with back to back Super Bowl wins. The EFL dropped back down to 8 teams however still kept the 6 team playoff format, the standings can be seen below.

Season VI Postseason
The Divisional Round of the Playoffs were off to an amazing start, as the Meanders keep it close all game with the soon to be champions Texas Lonestars, QB MrChief3601 throws a brutal pick 6 to Derp0716 to end the game with a final score of 42-28 with the Lonestars advancing. In the GFC we saw EFL Icon Jomo27 make his long awaited playoff debut, sadly it did not work out for him as the Eritrea Camels stomp the Detroit Renaissance 58-24 to advance to the GFCCG. Next up we see Eritrea play Club America for a chance to go to the Super Bowl, although the game was out of hand in the first half with Camels QB LukeDCool throwing 4 interceptions, they nearly crawl back but fall short to Club America 62-50 and will have to wait another season at a chance to win the Super Bowl. In the OFC we see one of the greatest games of all time occur between the Texas Lonestars and Dres1 led Atlantean Tridents, this game came down to a challenge call by COTY Derp0716 who challenged there was no time on the clock as the tridents were at the 2 yard line down 7 and could've beaten the Lonestars in Overtime or in Regulation. Derp0716's challenge was sucsessful and as time expired the Texas Lonestars have made the Super Bowl with a final score of 44-37. In the Super Bowl hosted at Momomall Field in Flevoland, Netherlands, we see MVP RotoBollos try to change his playoff choking narritive. This went sideways very quick with RotoBollos completing 0 for his first 9 passes in the first half, resulting in the Lonestars holding momentium beating Club America 38-22 as Derp0716 and Sflucx both win their 2nd ring.

Season VII
Season VII was the season where the playoff chokers define the odds, we see one of the greatest one season rebuilds in the Tallahassee Confederates going from bottom of the OFC to a Super Bowl apperance along with a Lonestars late season collapse after starting 6-0. After all of this we see LukeDCool finally cement his EFL legacy by winning a Super Bowl after constantly choking in playoff games.

Season VII Postseason
The OFC Divisional round kicked things off with MVP ZGamerz_123 leading the charge for the Confederates, this game ended very controversially as head referee NFISH2021 allegedly misses an Illegal Blitz flag that could have won the Tridents this game, the final score was 30-21 favoring the Confederates as they go to Williamsburg for the OFCCG. In the GFC we clearly know Eritreas firepower as they dismantle the Bellevue Stags 34-6 as owner Terry2Times is still yet to win a playoff game. In the GFCCG we see a rematch between Club America and the Eritrea Camels, this time we see a different result as the Camels cruise past Club America 44-24 with a trip to the Super Bowl. In the OFC star Lonestars QB Sflucx retired following their loss to the Tridents in week 7, with no option Franchise Owner and General Manager had to sign Jomo27 with the season on the line, this did not go well for the lonestars offensively as they were only able to put up 1 touchdown. The Confederates played a very ugly game aswell only winning 15-8 vs a depleated Lonestars team, this doesnt look appealing for the Super Bowl. In the Super Bowl we see an all out shootout between the Eritrea Camels and Tallahassee Confederates in Munich, Netherlands at Ceasers Stadium. This game had a final score of 41-32 where LukeDCool and the camels come out on top as the Confederates fail to score in a tie game late in the fourth quarter.

Season VIII
Season VIII was the longest season in terms of games played in EFL history, going from 7 regular season games to 9 regular season games. This season will also mark the final season on Terra Aurora, EarthMC's map since 2022. We saw tons of teams attempt to go all in, but only one of them came on top. Star players such as Dres1, MrChief3601, and IceHippo were traded to different conferences mid season which headlined the biggest trade deadline in league history. This season had a ton of ups and downs for teams but the Slobozi Renaissance were the ones to come on top, giving franchise owner Elliot (ToasterBurnt) a 5th Super Bowl ring.

Season VIII Postseason
The GFC Divisional Round started things off for the playoffs with one of the biggest upsets in EFL history where the Los Angeles Raptors stunned the Eritrea Camels 35-31. Camels QB LukeDCool had a mid season meltdown where he failed to produce good QB play following their week 7 win over the 67ers, which ended up costing him his season. In the OFC, Bengals QB Dres1; who was acquired at the trade deadline, dominated the San Francisco 67ers 49-26 in excellent fashion. The GFCCG had the Slobozi Renaissance and the Los Angeles Raptors go back and fourth but eventually resulted in a Renaissance win 52-46 as QB DistortedMatrix failed to score on his final drive with 13 seconds left. In the OFCCG the Tallahassee Confederates beat the Cincinnati Bengals 52-49 as the Bengals late comeback falls short, QB Dres1 threw 2 costly interceptions in which one was returned for a TD. Super Bowl VIII was one of the most anticipated matchups of the season, and it did not disappoint. With record attendance in the stands the Slobozi Renaissance took on the Tallahassee Confederates, the halftime score had the Confederates leading 28-22 but a late comeback for the Renaissance happened as they won 49-44 over the Confederates with an IceHippo walkoff TD due to blown coverage happened as time expired, solidifying one of the greatest postseasons in EFL history.

Season IX
Season IX, following the 9 game-per-season experiment with Season VIII, was certainly the most hectic in EFL history. This season also marks the first season on Terra Nostra, EarthMC's map since 2026. We saw tons of teams attempt to go all in, but only one of them came on top. Formerly banned player beefour was unbanned after a league vote, and many players were traded to different conferences mid season which headlined a shocking trade deadline. This season had a ton of ups and downs for teams but the Cincinnati Bengals were the ones to come on top, finally giving franchise owner JoeSheisty his first Super Bowl ring with the Bengals.

The OFC Divisional Round started things off for the playoffs with Beefour and the Cincinnati Bengals defeating the Tallahassee Confederates 62-28. Bengals QB Beefour had an absolutely shocking 86% completion percentage, throwing 4 touchdowns in the win. In the GFC Divisional Round, QB M1ner of the Nijmegen Renaissance eviscerated a decent Sacramento Vipers team, winning 32-8. The GFCCG had the Nijmegen Renaissance and Club America endure a lengthy lead by the Aguilas, which was nearly choked away in a final score of 23-12 as QB m1ner was picked off with 0:14 on the clock. In the OFCCG the Cincinnati Bengals pulled off another win, beating the Super Bowl-favorite Texas Lonestars 30-27. QB Dres1 threw a costly interception and was shockingly underwhelming in the game. Super Bowl IX was the most anticipated matchups in possibly the entirety of EFL history, and it did not disappoint. With a certifiable record attendance in the stands of 90+ concurent players watching the game in Dallas, the Cincinnati Bengals took on the Club America Aguilas, in which the halftime score had the Bengals leading 32-22, and the Bengals simply continued to prowl from there, winning 62-28 over the Aguilas with a JoeSheisty walkoff pick-six, his second on the day, solidifying one of the greatest postseason performances by a team in EFL history, not to mention Bengals rookie WR/DT HibachiBeamz solidifying the greatest Super Bowl performance ever, with 6 receptions for 200 yards and 3 TDs on offense, combined with 4 sacks on defense, 2 being safeties.

The EFL has had several storied players in it's first three seasons. Below are all the Hall of Famers:
Class of Season I
- Dogster is known as one of the greatest players of all time as well. He is known for his exceptional route running and unrivaled PvP prowess. He has won 1 Super Bowl, 1 OPOY, and 2 DPOY's. He has had successful careers with both the Tridents (now the Bengals) and the Orcas (now the Eagles).
Class of Season II
- Fruityboi is one of the greatest offensive players of all time. He is known for his great route running and tactics. He has won 2 Super Bowls both in Season 1 and 2. He has played for the Hueys (now Club America), the Bengals, and the Eagles twice.
Class of Season III
- Malso is considered as the greatest player in EFL history for his great wins and successful formula. He has only played for his own team, the Orcas (now known as the Philadelphia Eagles). He had 2 Super Bowls, 2 MVP's, and 2 Super Bowl MVP's, 2 COTY's, and 2 OPOY'S, the most of any player ever. He has an all time record of 16-2-2 (.850%). Malso's game style is simple, he generally throws short passes or runs it himself.
Class of Season IV
- ZGamerz_123 is a cornerstone of the EFL, serving as both the Commissioner and a premier dual threat QB. His Season 7 campaign was one for the history books, as he secured the Most Valuable Player, Coach of the Year, and Comeback Player of the Year awards while leading the Tallahassee Confederates to a Super Bowl appearance. A fixture in the championship conversation since Season 1, his leadership from the front office to the gridiron has defined the league's competitive standard and structural integrity.
Class of Season V
- CazyMan is one of the oldest active players in the league. He is known for good quarterbacking, and for being the best in the very beginning of the league. He has played for the Meanders, Hueys/Aguilas, Orcas, and the Bengals. He has won one Super Bowl, but would have won two if not for a costly interception to lose Super Bowl II.
Class of Season VI
- JoeSheisty represents longevity and franchise stability, maintaining a high level of competition across multiple eras of EMC football. As the face of the Cincinnati Bengals (Formerly the Atlantean Tridents), he has guided his squads to a Super Bowl title (Season IX), multiple playoff appearances (Seasons II-IX) and orchestrated some of the most memorable upsets in league history. His reputation as a "moral victory" enforcer and influential team owner underscores a career defined by resilience and a permanent seat at the table of the league's "Big 4".
- Mf_Rayado is the EFL’s premier special teams specialist and a dominant defensive force. Beyond his on field accolades as a perennial Defensive Player of the Year candidate and multiple Player of the Game winner, he revolutionized league culture by founding the Rayado Network. His dual impact as a media mogul and a defensive cornerstone for Club America makes his resume one of the most unique and influential in league history. He is still trying to seek his first championship as his team has lost in heartbreak nearly every season.
Class of Season VII
- Derp0716 is the most successful franchise owner in league history, winning two Super Bowl titles and three championship appearances from seasons 4-6. A two-time Coach of the Year winner, his ability to build championship cultures with the Texas Lonestars and Pittsburgh Steelers earned him a formal induction into the EFL Hall of Fame in Season 7. His resume is defined by a relentless winning percentage and a legacy of elite team management, cementing his status as the league's greatest general managers and franchise owners.
Class of Season VIII
- Elliot (ToasterBurnt) is a versatile powerhouse whose career is marked by individual dominance and elite athleticism. A Season 8 Hall of Fame inductee, he has been a consistent MVP candidate and a former #1 overall draft pick, recognized for his ability to change the game at wide receiver, quarterback, and defensive back. With 4 Championship rings from Seasons II, IV, V and VI. He also holds a reputation as the league’s most dangerous all around threat, Elliot remains the gold standard for pure skill and versatility.
