Tyce
The Canadian Emperor
Tyce was a former emperor of the once boundless and illustrious Canadian Empire. He is credited with bringing the Empire to its peak and realizing its true potential, amassing a total of over 60 nations across the world. This was accomplished largely on his own. Under his leadership and jurisdiction, Tyce unified the full region of Canada and created a thriving superpower, even controlling other parts of the world. This stretched from the entirety of Central America to a large portion of Asia. He created many successful reforms within the Empire and led it to prosperity. This was, until he abruptly left the server one day and moved on.
"It's All Canada" - Tyce
The Rio Grande-American War
As Tyce ascended to power in the Empire, he created a strong alliance with the Republic of the Rio Grande. He had been friends with its leaders for a long time, long before he joined the Empire. Around this time the Rio Grande declared war on the North American Union, South American Union, and Poland. Due to the alliance between both entities, Tyce concluded that it was a necessity to join the war efforts and help his allies. The Canadian Empire entered on the side of the Rio Grande. Quickly, the South American Union surrendered and collapsed. The North American Union proved more stubborn. So, Tyce decided to take another approach. He created new, contentious war tactics that created immense controversy.
Tyce loved fighting on the server. He'd frequently go out of his way to slaughter new players and ambush random people. Often he'd create foreign affairs across the world with only violence. When members of the North American Union refused to exit their claims and fight, Tyce turned to terrorism. He became the first player on the server to utilize a tactic known as Embassy Bombing. Tyce realized that he could claim embassies in enemy territories and turn on all of their permissions. In other words, he was able to blow up enemy plots entirely and with ease. He used this on numerous occasions within the span of a few days. He bombed the capital of the North American Union three times. This was the town of Boston, America. In the past, Tyce had stolen a considerable number of horses and llamas from this town as well. Bombings even occurred up to the nation of Michigan.
After 24 hours, Tyce had bombed 7 different towns. He was always known for seeking warfare, but this heavily affected the server. The same strategies were then used, the next day, in the Destruction of the Eiffel Tower. Tyce was also a participant in this event, strengthening his strategies and fighting other players.
Terrorist Tactics and Rule Disputes
Due to his unethical and destructive tactics, Tyce was targeted by the EarthMC Staff Team a few days later for "abusing the system" (CloakedEagle, May 2020). At the time of these attacks, it was stated in Rule 3.1:
"Please note that mayors/kings are responsible for misconfigured town/nation permission settings."
A video of Tyce's Embassy Bombings and statements made by the Staff Team can be found here.
It was decided behind the players' backs that if done multiple times, bombing or destroying an owned plot could result in a warn. This "pseudo-rule" was created solely because of Tyce's rapid terrorist attacks. Players were not made aware of this and the rules had stated the exact opposite. So, there was significant uproar when Tyce received three warnings for his attacks and got banned. One of these warnings was later removed, and he was unbanned, yet the other two still remained. As stated by Eagle, "It's also entirely your fault if staffs have to clean up your mess every time" (May 2020). This, simply, was untrue. Staff were not entitled to clean up the mess of a nation leader's own mistake. Insecure town permissions were the fault of the mayor. Not one outside claim was damaged. The ban action taken by the Staff Team did not adhere to the rules. As stated by Sharkfynn1012, also known as CorgiPaws, "If players don't know the actual rules, how can they be expected to play... It does not break towny, nor the rules" (May 2020).
Around this time, players grew increasingly frustrated with the Staff Team. Tyce, alongside others, believed that Staff were beginning to make up their own, imaginary rules. Tyce claimed it was not fair to the players, and proclaimed that rules must be explicitly stated in the rules. This began a trend called #PutYourRulesInTheRules. In the end, the Staff Team ended up revising the rules and outright banning Tyce's terrorist tactics, long after the war had ended. Formerly, Rule 3.1 was called Destroying land around claims. Now, it is called Destroying land in or around claims.
Furthermore, Tyce developed a dangerous, now blacklisted and bannable tactic known as Scaffold-Rod. This he did not get in trouble for, as it became against the rules once Tyce had stopped playing. Very few players, Tyce included, learned how to use scaffolding to literally fly. Players maintained full range of motion in the air and could move in all directions, even farther up. This was used to hover above cities. Tyce then realized it would be possible to use a fishing rod while hovering in the air, with scaffolding, to launch players up and kill them via fall damage. He taught many of his friends how to use this, and it was used to wreak havoc in several major cities on the server. He had even hosted lessons in which players could pay 5G to learn how to use this threatening tactic. This was used to kill countless American citizens sitting within claims.
Long prior to the war, Tyce also used a dangerous tactic known as Blast Mining. One could create a very powerful explosion by using TNT and holding flint and steel. If the player held shift (crouched) and then right clicked facing towards the TNT, it would create a sizable explosion with a devastating impact. It could, if hit directly, one shot a player in fully enchanted diamond armor. He later used this tactic to bomb the The Nobel Prize and assassinate the player Linus, the spokesperson for the Nobel Prize Committee. Tyce, along with Cubs, stole all of the Nobel Prize items dropped by Linus. This included all of the Nobel awards/certificates for the laureates. Though he never revealed it publicly, Tyce also ended up seizing 10 gold blocks from the incident, which Linus dropped. A video of the attack can be found here. This caused Linus to delete the Nobel Prize Server, all related servers, and quit EarthMC. Tyce credits Skater for teaching him how to blast mine. This ability is now disabled server-wide and cannot be used.
Tyce's terrorist tactics inspired an organization currently titled the United Terrorists of EarthMC. Its members strive to create new, greater maneuvers and wreak havoc on their targets. Tyce, however, is not affiliated with this group.
End of the War
In the end, the North American Union merged with some remnants of the South American Union and became the American Union. This did not last long. Tyce, with the Canadian Empire, and evidently the Rio Grande, utterly wiped the American Union. By the end most of its member nations had left and the union fell apart. Poland withered away, and had fundamentally lost all power, but remains to this day. Tyce, though friendly with the Germans, did not see much point in partaking in a conflict across the world. Occasionally he would fight with them against the Polish, but not often. The Canadian Empire and Rio Grande emerged as the dominating superpowers in North America, effectively splitting the continent. This was, until Rio Grande began to decline and its leaders created Sri Lanka. The Canadian Empire remained a superpower until after Tyce left the server.
Canadian Reforms
Before the Empire, Tyce was the king of Inuvik, a once large nation situated in the Canadian Arctic Archipelago.
