Jemensche Straße (German: [jeːmɛnʃə ʃtʀaːsə]; English: Yemen Street) is one of Mossau's oldest streets, being laid out in mid-January 2020. Furthermore serves it as the main road for the Mossau Borough of Niedermossow, running across the whole district. It's also the only place in the whole town where a railway line runs on the street. This is a remnant from when Jemensche Straße was at the Southern Border of the town and authorities wanted to avoid realigning the track in order to keep clear of the road.

History

Pre-History as a snow road

In late December of 2019 and early January of the following year Jemensche Straße was a nameless snow road housing the former Mossow Central Railway Station. Other than that it served mainly as a patrolling path for soldiers.

Pavement and Naming

In mid-January 2020 the town expanded a little bit to the south, effectively making the district of Niedermossow usable. With this expansion came a new paved road running on the former snow path and on the railroad. At first it had the name of Chukotkische Straße, dedicating it to the town of Takhtoyamsk in Siberia, however in spring of the same year Mossow had it's first real friendly contact with the outside world. Alex07DGB was a rich player from the Australian town of Dubbo, creating an embassy at Chukotkische Straße and helping the town financially. After Alex07DGB had to handle internal conflicts with his town leader, he left Dubbo and created the town of Yosin Magawi in The Great Zerena. His help in the following conflict with ZwiebelSlayer gave Diamant the incentive to rename the street to Zerenaer Straße, naming it after Alex's nation. A few months later however, Alex abandoned his town in Zerena, joining the nation of Yemen, which shortly after opened good relations with Mossow and offered joining them as a province. Diamant accepting this offer renamed the street to – how it is called to this day – Jemensche Straße.

Mossau's Great Expansion

In late 2020 and early 2021 the town expanded rapidly into virtually all directions including the Southeast. This lead to a large extension of Jemensche Straße, essentially doubling its length. This is also the origin of a new cross road, the New Snorker Heerstraße, crossing Jemensche Straße roughly on X 19944. Near X 20000 it is being crossed by the Mossau Circle Iceway via a bridge.
