El-Dorado
El-Dorado is a town in the United Mexican States and serves as the capital for the nation Mexican_Empire. El-Dorado was founded by IsabelleIzzy who serves as its mayor to this day. The town is named after the fictional city of El Dorado[1] said to be the city of gold.

History
Pre-founding
IsabelleIzzy joined Aurora on October 3rd, 2022 but would not actually play until around May of 2024. Upon rejoining the server she joined Houston after asking to join a city with a map art platform. Despite this she would never make any map art in Houston due to the queue system to use their platform, instead opting to grind for the gold to found her own town.
Founding
El-Dorado was founded on May 22nd, 2024. The town was originally part of Texas. The location was chosen at the request of North Paso who was looking to expand Texas into Mexico. The town was founded with enough gold initially to claim 73 chunks in an 8x9 radius. This was done to build a map art platform in order to start producing map art, which was Isabelle's original intention when joining the server. Many map arts have been produced at El-Dorado since its founding.
Conflict with Mexico
Shortly after its founding, El-Dorado found itself at the center of a territorial dispute between Texas and Mexico along with other towns founded by Texas in the region. 911Saph claimed that Texas had encroached upon Mexico's claimed land with these towns, and demanded that they either join Mexico, or leave Texas. North Paso urged the towns to expand in preparation for war, which IsabelleIzzy did with gold she had mined, expanding to 92 chunks, the size the town remains at as of March 3rd, 2024.
At the time Texas was dealing with a potential war on two fronts, one with a newly formed rebel group in their core territory, and the new conflict brewing in Mexico. As a result Paso and the Rocky Administration decided to capitulate for the time being and told the towns to join Mexico. While the intention was to deal with the rebels before eventually having the towns rejoin Texas, IsabelleIzzy and _Vails took this as a betrayal and evidence of a underlying belief in Texas' governing incompetence which had been growing over the past few weeks. Despite directing the founding of these towns, and their expansion, Texas was unwilling to back them up when met with resistance. As a result the two decided to break off and found what would become the United Mexican States. 911Saph was satisfied with the outcome, as the declaration directly cut ties with Texas and made it clear that the new nation was not a puppet of Texas, and even went as far as to condemn Texas.[2]
Conflict with Texas
Shortly after breaking away IsabelleIzzy and the town were directly threatened by North Paso. Paso threatened to place a town right beside El-Dorado to claimblock or even overclaim the town. IsabelleIzzy managed to defuse the situation, insisting that they were not hostile towards their former nation, and that these actions were unnecessary. While true at the time, the incident would escalate tensions between the two and later United Mexican States (The Second Michoacán Republic at the time) would go to war with Texas. Despite previous threats, El-Dorado was mostly left alone by Texas and did not get claimblocked by Texas, unlike the at the time capital Mochar.
El-Dorado mostly stayed out of the conflict aside from occasionally making propaganda map art.
The war officially ended with the Treaty of Vancouver, which prevented Texas expansion past the Rio Grande thereby ending any potential threat to El-Dorado. The town has remained out of conflict since.
Becoming the Capital
On October 10th, 2024 _Vails would quit the server, transferring ownership of the nation (now renamed Mexican_Empire) to IsabelleIzzy. This made the town the capital, which it has remained ever since. upon transfer IsabelleIzzy opted to close the /n spawn while working on the city to make it a more appealing place, and work on a national shop. This era of expansion continues to this day, with almost all of it being driven solo by IsabelleIzzy. Despite _Vails return, El-Dorado remains the capital city.
