Mergopolis was founded by IanSpace71 at the start of the EarthMC Aurora server. The founding date was May 15th 2022. The town would go on to encompass the entirety of Bougainville island.

History

• May 15th, 2022: Mergopolis is founded by IanSpace71
• June 13th, 2023: Mergopolis has a diplomatic fallout with its nation of New Caledonia over resource allocation
• November 25, 2023: Mergopolis is connected to the icehighways/icerails
• August 7th, 2024: Mergopolis becomes the capital of the Solomon Republic. The nation's constitution is ratified.
• April 20, 2024: Libor2 creates the Tax Tower and begins attempting to tax Mergopolis citizens
• August 8th, 2024: IanSpace71 vanishes for a year. At some point during this time, Flain becomes the town mayor briefly
• July 28th, 2025: IanSpace71 returns
• September 7th, 2025: BestPapa is elected as the "governor" of Mergopolis (Town chancellor)
• December 6th, 2025: Members of Mergopolis work together to build a massive melon field near the town. This coincides with the creation of Mellonville
• December 7th, 2025: The Battle of Melonville occurs, a standoff between Mergopolis members and stream snipers that were watching the creation of the fields
• December 13th, 2025: The Melon Caverns and Melon Labyrinth are created below the melon fields over fear of staff deletion
• January 15th, 2026: The EarthMC staff wipe the many chunks of melons built near the town
