The island of New_Southampton is a town in Terra Aurora, a part of SGSSI. Founded in Janurary 2023 by CoprotGolem during the Construction Era of Aurora.

History

New Southampton was founded on January 6th, 2023 by CoprotGolem. Some structures were built on the island, but it remained inactive for a few months until AdmiralArrow took ownership of the town (which was previously called South_Shetland) and renamed it to New_Southampton. AdmiralArrow immediately joined SGSSI, the nation he previously resided in, in the capital of Grytviken, and moved the town eastward to two islands, where it currently is.

Present Day & Future Plans

New Southampton is currently a small town with only two residents, however AdmiralArrow has several plans for the town and several landmarks from the real life city of Southampton (for which the town is named) are planned or already under construction. One iconic Southampton landmark that has already been built is the Horn's Inn pub, which is located in the neighbourhood of Nursling on the outskirts of Southampton. The pub has been built just in front of New Southampton's spawn. An apartment building named after (but not modelled after) Southampton's Millbrook Towers is also under construction. Other landmarks that are planned to be built include the Titanic, West Quay shopping centre, and the Harbour Lights cinema in Ocean Village.

Government

Being a small town, New Southampton has no government and AdmiralArrow makes all decisions by himself, though he does hear feedback from loyal resident Backdude. New Southampton is loyal to the SGSSI, which it is part of. SGSSI is currently a constitutional monarchy ruled by King Porbei.
