Grand Rapids

Grand Rapids is one of the several towns within the nation of Michigan. Founded May 3, 2022, it is one of the oldest towns in Michigan. Despite bouts of inactivity, Grand Rapids is one of the most populated cities in Michigan; as of December 28th of 2022, 39 players reside in Grand Rapids. The city's current mayor is thenewpyro.

History

Grand Rapids originally started as a small settlement of Louisiana(present day United States) right on the coast of Lake Michigan. One of the first residents of the town, thenewpyro, took over as the mayor just a few weeks after the creation of the town, and immediately started expansion and development. Several other friends of thenewpyro joined to expand the town and help recruit more members. As the town grew in size and population, the decision to join the closer nation of Canada was made.

Michigan

In late May of 2022, Grand Rapids changed nations from Canada to Michigan in a deal made by twomoo1119, Chancellor of Canada at the time, which secured a permanent seat in the Michigan House of Representatives, so long as Grand Rapids stayed a territory of Michigan.

Succession

In mid June of 2022, several higher ranking members of Grand Rapids threatened secession from Michigan. Official reasons aren't well-known, but a large amount of problems were seen as due to former president Anaphase_Andy. Several talks were organized between the former president and members of Grand Rapids, and although unknown if they were successful, the idea of secession quietly disappeared from the spotlight. Rumors still make their rounds, but no official threat of secession has been made since.
