The Apostolic Accords

The Apostolic Accords is a document signed between Pope Benedict XVII and Francian king Thanamos. The document stated that Francia would abandon the Apostolic Church and convert to the Roman Catholic Church. The signing also ended the Crusade against Francia.

Background

After Francia declared war on France, on July 23rd, 2021, Thanamos posted a message on the Francia Discord. This message declared that the Roman Catholic Church was illegitimate. In response, Pope Benedict XVII excommunicated Thanamos and took away his title as Christian King of Francia. Template:Quote (Matthi3000 ) Three days after Thanamos' statement, the queen of Francia, Cinnamon, posted on the same channel an invitation to their citizens to join the Apostolic Church. This was the final straw for the Pope and, on July 3rd, 2021, the Pope declared the Crusade against Francia.

After 74 days, The Apostolic Accords were posted on the Catholic Church Discord and the crusade ended.

Pre-Crusade Situation

The Apostolic Accords opened with an explination of the events before the Crusade was declared.

Demands by the Holy See

The Holy See demanded three things from Thanamos:

1. A formal and public apology from Thanamos.
2. The Francician government ceases to recognize the Apostolic Church as a religious entity. No player is to be forced to reconvert, however, they must be encouraged to do so just like they were encouraged to abandon the Catholic Church in the first place.
3. Holy sites, temples, and cathedrals are reconverted to Christianity and the clergy of the Catholic Church is recognized as it is, separate from the power of the secular Francician state.

Optional Demands and Rewards

The Apostolic Accords also include a list of optional demands, not needed to be fulfilled.

1. Thanamos has to attend an event in the Vatican where he will be pardoned by the Pope. If Francia agrees with this, Thanamos will be crowned as a Christian king afterwards and in due time, the Catholic Church may present itself as an ally to aid Francia negotiate with France a reunification.
