Gotland is town of Terra Mariana located in Gotland island, Baltic Sea, governed by TommyJ2. It has a known history stretching back to lordship under the nation of Terra Mariana.

History

Pre-Historic

Not much is known about the pre-historic time in Gotland, with the exception of the ruins from a former empire. There have been found inscriptions on the walls on various parts of the island, most in Swedish, pertaining information about the town's residents, it's governmental structure as well as resources.

There are/were: a large castle on the island and a large wall surrounding the north-eastern part of the island.

Modern (February-March 2019)

In March of 2019, the town of Gotland was founded on the southern part of the island.

When the town was formed there was another town with a single inhabitant on the island. Not much is known about this inhabitant, other than that he or she disappeared mysteriously only a few days after the new settlers moved onto the island.

Under the island's new rule the town blossomed and many parts of the castle and outer wall which were in disarray after years of being forgotten are currently in the works of being repaired and maintained. The inner sanctum of the castle has also been completely remodelled to fit a more modern standard with modern amenities, such as a railway linking the island to the northern city of Stockholm, as well as plans for southern and western expansions of the railway in order to become a central hub for transportation in the Scandinavian and Western European region.

The town was then renamed to Visby and disbanded on August 18, 2019.

Under the Kalmar Union, Riftal and ENLS August 2019 - March 2020

Once owned by Terra Mariana, the town of Visby went into disrepair over the day it was unclaimed, empty and ransacked. It was first claimed by Riftal of the Kalmar Union on the southern part of the Island, where the original bank was. The town had then joined the Kalmar Union.

On the 26th of November 2019, Riftal stepped down as Mayor of Visby, as he wanted to move on to make the nation of Finland. He gave the town to ENLS of the Kalmar Union, who became the mayor. He expanded the town a couple of chunks, and built a couple new buildings.

Under Terra Mariana, and Dawidek March 2020

On March 9th 2020, ENLS decided he wanted to leave Visby, so he gave the town to Terra Mariana for dawidek04122003 to take over as mayor.

The first change he did as mayor was to change the name of the town from Visby to New Lechia according to the new, fictional Lechian Empire, extending from Germany to Ural mountains.

Under the Polish Kingdom, April - September 2020

Gotland left Terra Mariana peacefully and joined Polish Kingdom as a oversea territory.

When German forces were marching towards city of Danzig, dawidek04122003 decided to change sides and joined Nation of Germany. In the case of German dishonor and disrespect, dawidek04122003 decided to join nation of Poland and fully fight against German attackers.

Under the Kingdom of Sweden, September 2020

The Return of Riftal and the introduction of Finland, October 2020

As Riftal returned to EarthMC, he was offered by ENLS (King of Sweden) If he would like to take back Riftal after Juuzoz staged a coup and overthrew Riftal as the King of Finland. He happily accepted, and the town was returned to the original ownership after the 1 year anniversary of the island town.

Time under Gabeee's Sweden

After Riftals town fell, the island of Gotland came under the town of Visby, which in turn was a part of Sweden. The mayor expanded slowly but managed to create a decent amount of buildings. Eventually, Britain took control of Sweden, and in turn getting control of the island. Later, the mayor wiped and the town fell.

Return to Terra Mariana

TommyJ2 gained power in Gotland, somewhere in 2021 and rejoined Terra Mariana. He took advantage of the Swedish town of Visby falling and created a town. This was of controversy, as Gabe had claimed on the island near his town and TommyJ2 got the claims removed for "claimblocking", causing a feud between the two nations. Eventually, the whole island was claimed over by Terra Mariana and remains so until today.
