Korea, (Korean: 한국, Japanese: 韓国), officially the Republic of Korea, is a nation located in the Korean Peninsula of East Asia on Terra Nostra.

History

Terra Aurora, Post-War

In Terra Aurora, on November 2024, King of Korea, KenDibnah, got banned during the war against Japan and the Chinese region and with the community separation which led to creation of the nation Qing that happened afterwards, the Korean community spiraled into a steep decline. With the nation eventually being sold for 5,000 gold to Japan on 29 April, 2025, the community has practically gone extinct, with original members either leaving EarthMC entirely, or switching to other nations.

Kihwa, who had signed the peace treaty with Japan and the Chinese nations as the representative of the surrendering nation, Korea, tried seeking means of reviving the community by joining the Japanese community, to no avail. Kihwa got the nation returned from Japan a month before the closure of Terra Aurora.

Creation of the Korean Community in Terra Nostra

The creation of the Discord server of Korea on Terra Nostra launch was originally created by the Japanese player, Nemupy, on February, 2026. However, with Nemupy immediately quitting EarthMC afterwards, the server was handed over to the player OhHina, who intended to create the town of Busan in Terra Nostra. He also eventually gave up his intention in playing in Korea, leaving the server handed over to Kihwa.

The community started to form, with old players during Terra Nova and Aurora having decided to join the newly sprouting community. The notable members are:

  • Nice_pengguin, ethnical Korean player, who was a Prime Minister of PRK in Terra Nova and Korea on Terra Aurora.
  • Sir_Atom, another ethnical Korean player, also known as Atomica, the first king of Korea on Terra Aurora.
  • Enigma731, the longest-reigning emperor of Japan in Terra Nova.
  • Qorrin, the leader of Shimazu in Terra Nova, and the Prime Minister of Japan in Terra Nova.

Rajin Treaty: Following great instability within the Korean peninsula near the end of Terra Aurora, the leadership of Korea fell to Kihwa. On April 13, 2026, the Rajin Treaty was signed between Korea, Bokkai, and Japan, establishing an alliance and recognition of each other's borders. Kihwa maintained close ties with Bokkai and Japan, and managed to prevent any other groups from encroaching on Korea. Korea began receiving support and recognition from other major groups that planned to make nations in Asia. This chain of events marked Korean sovereignty, as well as extended diplomatic relations, establishing the basic foundations needed for the early stages of Terra Nostra.

Terra Nostra Early Access

On April 17, 2026, the Korea launch group, consisting of Kihwa, Qorrin, Tytolis, A_Wet_Cloud, Dieromancea6429, and Mikke_vu, coordinated to establish the first towns in Korea. Qorrin created the town of Seoul in a random place in Europe simply to secure the name. Meanwhile, Kihwa became the first player on the server to step foot on the Korean peninsula in game. The real town of Seoul was then made in its current and realistic spot. By the end of the the first day of the server, the Korea launch group had established 5 towns in Korea:

  • Seoul, founded by Kihwa.
  • Busan, founded by A_Wet_Cloud.
  • Sejong, founded by Mikke_vu.
  • Jeju, founded by Qorrin.
  • Wonsan, founded by Tytolis.

The town of Pyongyang (now owned by Hyerin_ye) was also founded by rigSPriNg, but this user was not known to the established launch group.

On April 23, 2026, with the help of the Japan and Bokkai, the nation of Korea was created by Kihwa, with Seoul as its capital. A large celebration between the Rajin Alliance members was held in Seoul to mark the occasion.

Two new towns would also be founded and join Korea during early access: Haenam, founded by GENG1R; and Nampo, founded by Rwedd.

Colonial Era (April 24 - June 8, 2026)

Originally, the nation of Korea operated under Japan as an autonomous military district, with total control over internal affairs and government structure, but with limited capabilities with foreign relations. The main focus during this period was protecting the area defined under the Raijin Treaty from growing Chinese interest in the area and preventative measures to dissuade players from creating a North Korea. The towns of Jeju, Gyeongju, and Kamigawa (now Taean) saw significant growth during this period, with large scale builds, centralization of power, and town settlements focusing in those regions. On May 1st, the first national elections were held, with prime minister DruiDwastaken_ running unopposed. During his term, Korea was split up into 4 administrative districts and 9 ministerial positions. Ministers often switched out but the categories remained relatively constant. Korea also began initiating foreign relations with nations sharing a common interest, mainly other Japanese autonomous regions and Bokkai and its allies.

The Sino-Japanese War During the Colonial Era, the nation of Japan had been engaging in skirmishes with several Chinese nations over Japanese ownership of Taiwan and Chinese support of the nations of Yamato and the Empire of Japan, who were already seen as aggressor states by the Japanese government. Japan had been expanding its presence overseas, while the Chinese nations organized a united front to take on the Japanese more effectively. On June 8th, 2026, tensions boiled over and Japan officially declared war on the nations of PRC, ROC, and Yamato, bringing in the rest of the Chinese United Front and starting one of the biggest wars in Nostra history.

Meanwhile, Korea had taken on a neutral stance in most foreign policy and already had its hands full limiting both Chinese and Japanese presence on the peninsula, and when the war broke out, Korea had become the front line for new wartime colonial holdings. As a Japanese-controlled region, Korea was used as an early jumping off point for Japan to plant towns in Chinese controlled portions of Jilin and Liaoning. In order to maintain a neutral stance and retain control over the peninsula, Korea held an emergency vote among parliament members and declared independence the same day, successfully preventing colonization by both parties.

The Independent Republic of Korea (June 8, 2026 - Present)

The weeks following the official declaration of independence saw a significant amount of growth and initial activity. At least a dozen towns were settled in these weeks, with the towns of Daejeon, Chongju, Wonsan, and Konohagakure (Daegu) growing particularly fast. Upon independence, Korea also joined the Pan-Asian League as a secondary line of defense independent of both Chinese and Japanese factions. Kamigawa and Jeju continued to expand and project Korean influence, with Korea's 2nd large scale event (the 1st being the nation's creation), taking place in Jeju with at least 30-50 players in attendance.

The Creation of North Korea and War of Independence (July 25, 2026 - Present) Shortly before declaring independence from Japan, the town of Jindo was settled by a small community, becoming quite active in the following days. During this time, the status of the town of Pyongyang was still contested, as it had been owned by Chinese mayors aligning themselves with the United Front and maintaining minimal contact with Korean officials. As the Jindo group had prior connection to the founder of the town, they were tasked with acquiring and developing Pyongyang as a Korean town. Because the group had been so active and showed an interest in participating in national affairs, one of their players, Hyerin_ye, was made minister of the interior.

As the group operated within Pyongyang, they began asking for gold from several towns and government funding under the guise of expanding Pyongyang and establishing new towns for the government of Korea, leveraging the interior ministership to secretly fund the establishment of their own nation. After additional funding from the player CrownOfLech, the group separated and created North Korea, now DPRK, to the offense of many irl Koreans within the nation of Korea and in violation of the Raijin Treaty. Negotiations immediately followed, with Hyerin_ye trying to curb the situation and deny claims of scamming gold out of the Korean government, with talks eventually breaking down. War was officially declared on July 31st, with the North Koreans seeing the most casualties after fighting began, with minimal losses within Korea.

Gamelian War of Recognition (August 2026) On August 1st, 2026, a rogue faction of Japanese players, calling themselves the United States of Gamelia, that had been expelled from the Japanese nation settled a town in the region above Pyongyang after being rejected by the surrounding nations. Initially, Korea took a hands off approach, but after continued aggression by the faction and their town being admitted into the DPRK, the President of Korea authorized the execution of hostile measures and the defense of territory between Chongju and Pyongsong. The Gamelians were severely underequipped and high in numbers, so after seeing immediately high casualties, were forced to take a defensive stance, one of them being the establishment of a town just north of Korean defensive positions in an attempt to claim-block Chongju and Pyongsong from expanding north, which later would be rescinded by moderators. Initial backing by the DPRK dwindled after attempts to defend the territory resulted in losses to Korean forces and the USG being forced to expand downwards around Pyongyang. On the 10th of August, the DPRK approached Korea and established a ceasefire, kicking and sanctioning the USG from their nation. With nowhere else to expand and no nation to back them, the USG began to relocate to Siberia along the Reka Uda.

Constitution

Prelude

Korea is a Republic of sovereign towns under the stewardship of Seoul. The territory of Korea consists of the Korean Peninsula and its adjacent islands. This Constitution defines the structure of the governance of Korea and is recognized by all towns in the nation.

Head of State: President - 국무령 (Gukmuryeong)

The President is the permanent Head of State of Korea.  The office belongs to the Mayor of Seoul.  The President has final authority over national matters, but is expected to adhere to the will of the people as a first among equals.  The President may only be replaced if that President abdicates.

Head of Government: Prime Minister - 국무총리 (Gukmuchongri)

The Prime Minister is the elected Head of Government of Korea.  The Prime Minister is elected by the Assembly for a 3-month term, and manages national administration, appoints ministers, and coordinates communication between towns.  The Prime Minister also heads the National Assembly and ensures voting rules are followed.

Legislature: National Assembly - 국회 (Gukhoe)

The National Assembly is the legislative body of Korea, consisting of all Korean towns, including Seoul.  Mayors are automatically members, and are responsible for proposing and voting on laws, electing the Prime Minister, and advising national leadership.  Mayors may assign a citizen to represent their town in the Assembly for them.

Ministry - 국무원 (Gukmuwon)

Ministers are appointed by the Prime Minister to manage national responsibilities.  The Prime Minister can appoint anyone as a Minister, and as many Ministers they feel are needed for the government.

Voting Rules

1. Any Mayor (or representative) may propose a law or motion.  It must be supported by at least one other mayor to go to a vote.

2. Any proposed law will have a 72-hour voting period.

3. Laws shall be passed if a simple majority of those who vote in the 72-hour voting period approve it (ties are considered approved).

4. These rules also apply to voting for the Prime Minister every 3 months.

Prime Ministership of Dru1d

The Prime Ministership of Dru1d marks the establishment of the first executive head of government in the modern political structure of Korea. Following the conclusion of the candidacy period, Dru1d of Kamigawa was the only candidate to ran for the selection process. As a result, he was automatically appointed as the inaugural Prime Minister of Korea.

First Administration. The Cabinet Of Korea

The first Korean cabinet under Prime Minister Dru1d was created to provide an organized leadership across all major national functions. This administration introduced a regional ministerial system (North, South, East, West) alongside traditional governmental ministries, reflecting Korea’s geographic complexity and its rapidly growing population. The cabinet was assembled over a four-day period following the initial announcement on 6 June 2026, marking the establishment of Korea’s first formal government structure on Terra Nostra.
