Cult of Dredd

The Cult of Dredd (Also referred to as "Dreddism"), is a splinter branch of the Roman Catholic Church which believes that god has manifested itself as Canadian rapper Freddie Dredd. Although a small minority in the overall Catholic world, it was the state-enforced religion of the Great Euphoria Empire (Nova), and the state-enforced religion of Euphoria (Aurora).

The cult largely follows the teachings of their head and first prophet Dornan, and most of the beliefs are over-exaggerated interpretations of Dornan's ideals. Most, if not all, of the religion is centered around both Euphoric Empires.

Overview

Dreddism came to be after a vision was given to the patron saint and prophet Dornan of rapper Freddie Dredd after a series of tragic events concerning the catholic church. However, it has been recorded in tradition that a person only known as "The Enlightened One" had a vision of Freddie months before Dornan's revelation.

Dreddism is currently regarded as an avant-garde statement against the Roman Catholic Church, as it virtues the opposite of traditional Catholic teaching. Most of the cult's virtues have also been in some regards influenced by Dornan's own way of thinking, as he was famously a fan of Freddie Dredd way before the cult's founding. Most of it has been seen as Dornan's way of spreading his harsh ideals onto the server.

Mythos

Most religious texts describe a tale of 2 homosexual marriages which eventually led to the revelation of Freddie to Dornan.

The two marriages took place in the Columbian capital of Achilla (now Kanye) and both were in some way related to player Kamikokoro (now kamdropz). According to the Dreddist Bible; "...At high noon, on harvest season, BigBroPro0425 and Kamikokoro, were beautifully engaged together, the celebrations were plentiful but shortly after the ceremony, BigBroPro0425 disappeared, never to be seen again..." "...Kami fell into a deep depression, locking himself in his hotel room, before looking for answers in DeadlyFox2003." "...Kami married DeadlyFox2003 on a cloudy winter day, they were proclaimed by the local priest, Dornan, but then a sudden flash of light emanating from Spain tore the marriage apart...".

Evidence of the marriages taking place has been founded in very old scrolls, however, the disappearance of BigBroPro, has been heavily debated, as could still be found at the time of Aurora, which was about a year after the fact. The "sudden ray of light" mentioned has now been considered by many historians to have been the threat of the excommunication of DeadlyFox, which was a Roman Catholic, a religion which shuns homosexual marriages.

Wellmen

The Wellmen are a holy order of knights originally made to usurp and control politics from beneath the shadows in early 2021. The group was highly secretive during this period and activities from 2021 to September 2022 are largely unknown. It is known that the group was not originally called the Wellmen, however the original name has been lost.

According to Wellmen tradition, they were first tasked with protecting Dreddism by a vision that came to an unknown member of the order referred only as "The Enlightened One" a few months before the foundation of Dreddism, meaning that Wellmen preceded Dreddism on the worship of Freddie Dredd. This vision tasked the group to usurp a reining ruler of a country, a ruler who was famous for his depravity and manipulative nature. Weather the group was successful or not has been left to interpretation, since the traditions almost purposefully contradict one another, making it impossible to know. The group's doings after have remained a mystery and the next piece of information available is their reveal to the world a year later.

The group made itself known during the ceremonial founding date of Euphoria, September 16th, when a well appeared in the now holy city of New Vegas. This well, now the holy site of Foraminis, quickly became famous as a meeting ground for the original knights. As their meetings became an open secret, the now Wellmen revealed themselves to the world and they began rapid expansion. Most members of the Camarilla are Wellmen.

Wellmen are regarded as the main promoters of the Dreddist religion because of their seniority in comparison to the Church. Because of this seniority, high ranking members of the order have the privilege of being able to elect a pope once every month, they however, don't have any power over the Church.
