Deseret
Deseret was a nation located in the western part of North America from July 13th, 2019, to May 31st, 2020 before it was sold and renamed to CSA.
History
The founder of the nation Deseret, UnbatedAura, joined EarthMC with one goal in mind: Settle where he lived in the real world. It took two months, but after the founding of Argent and the Argent Museum, he received a donation of 5,000 gold from an anonymous player in South America. He instantly took 1,024 of this gold and founded Deseret, named after a Mormon colony located in the same location in real life.
It was founded under the assumption that it would be instantaneously inducted into the, at the time, meganation, Cascadia, as Argent had been a part of California (current), during the reign of Sperm. This happened, and Deseret was inducted as the 8th Province. Unbated began his career in global affairs, one that would last him until he quit, by joining Cascadia. He began proposing bills for the meganation and building up his own.
The Museum
For most of its life, Deseret was known as the nation with the incredibly wealthy owner and incredibly renowned museum. People flocked from everywhere to view the exotic relics, from ancient shield and thrones to illegal skulls and a skeleton horse. The Museum grew to a peak of 7 floors, all 6 blocks high at the time it was destroyed.
The Riots and Split From Cascadia
On August 6th, 2019, an event that would be known as the New York Riots would occur. This caused a split between the large nation of New York and Cascadia, of which New York was a part, with Unbated in the center of it. This event is usually viewed as the turning point of Cascadia, when it began to decline into near death in late 2019. Yaznayu, who had inherited the nation of somerset from its previous owner, LeftArm0fExodia, had begun rapid empire expansion and wanted Unbated to join his new alliance. They had previously been enemies, but had grown closer over time. Unbated considered it, and brought it up in the Cascadian Intelligence Division discord. He proposed "leaving" Cascadia to join this new alliance, dubbed Foedus Christiana as a double agent. He believed he had received approval from Silent_Dirt, but this wasn't the case. He decided to make the move anymore, and very publicly announced that Deseret would be joining this new, offensive alliance. For about a month, this alliance would be the main topic of discussion on the server, however, their multiple feuds and poor leadership structure eventually caused the alliance to cease on August 30th, 2019. Unbated began seeking to return to Cascadia, but as he had been in Foedus Christiana for so long, he had begun to actually believe in what they wanted, and was unsure where his allegiance lied. He eventually was allowed to return, and resumed a career in Cascadian politics, with Deseret's interests in the forefront.
Unbated's Presidency
Unbated was elected the President of Cascadia after returning. He left Deseret to his closest friend, Pesetz, and moved to Astoria. However, BonZZil did not trust him as the leader and refused to give him the town. He ended up not achieving anything in his presidency and resigned in disgrace to his home. As collateral for him resigning, he took Deseret out of Cascadia, furthering the nation's downward spiral, that, to its luck, it would recover from half a year later.
Intermittence
Unbated did not know what to do at this point. He had expanded his town to its peak, 179 chunks, and was beginning to get bored. He once again gave Pesetz his nation and retreated to Alaska, founding the nation of Frontier on December 16th, 2019. The capital of this nation, a town called Arjand, still retains the only bedrock hole known in terranova, a hole Fix himself and the developer of towny, LlamaDeal, helped break.
After a month, on January 16th, 2020, after inducting both Frontier and Deseret to a new Somerset Empire, one spearheaded by waav, he decided to fell the nation and return to Deseret, once again. He retained his Prince status in Somerset despite moving farther away and mainly used the discord as a place to mess around. Unbated had unofficially quit. On January 26th, he would leave Deseret once again to take a 500 chunk town in Alaska called Klondike, the town he had begun his journey on EarthMC in, and began to make repairs and restore it to how he knew it. However, a day later, he would be banned for the violation of rule 2.7. Deseret and Klondike sat in limbo for 41 days, when Unbated was unbanned and allowed to return to EarthMC.
Return
He immediately sold the town to Meikarazzzi and returned to Argent and Deseret. He was inducted into the Accordo Party and into the British Commonwealth as a Governor General. He would help make decisions in Britain and in Accordo for 2 months, before deciding he had had enough of being bored in this area when Warriorrr offered him the 620 chunk town of Sussex for free, as he was also feeling burnout and moved to London.
The End
On May 29th and 30th of 2020, Unbated would move all of his items and all of the relics from the museum to the Castle Stonesite in Sussex. He found a buyer for the nation, the meganation of Rio Grande, and arranged to sell Deseret for 700g. He planted tnt and redstone through every floor of the museum, and gathered a massive crowd to witness the event. The museum was destroyed by the explosion as a final sendoff for the nation he had founded and grew. He sold the nation to Rio with North_Paso taking it, and left for Britain.
