Every match lasts 30 minutes with a 5 minute half time. If there is a draw, there will be 10 minutes of overtime and, if there's a draw anyways there will be a shot on goal. The winning team would get 500 gold and the cup. As there're no balls on Minecraft, a player on diamond armor with Mending, and players will use stone swords with Knockback II and Unbreaking III and wear their team's armor.

On July 1st, 2021, louisdek created the Football World Cup of EMC and it was announced on #general-news on the biggest news network on the server, [[EarthMC Live]]. This immediatly gave the tournament great attention. As there were 12 teams, not all nations would be able to compete. The final formation of teams was:
