Campaign advertising in Nubia is a tool often used by political campaigns with political posters, videos and attack adverts.
Campaign adverts are mostly published in the officially designated discord channel, #propaganda, during the designated days of campaigning as per election rules in Nubia. Little regulation exists as to what the content of the election propaganda may be, however this an one hour limit between when the candidate is allowed to post election propaganda.
History
Early election propaganda
Whilst there was election propaganda published prior, the amount of election propaganda increased drastically with the creation of a dedicated #propaganda channel. The first election propaganda there would be published by Greaseballer, which described previous Nubian relations with Ancient Egypt and his involvement in them.
The first attack advert, against Steelerplayer1, was made by Greaseballer, pointing out a misspelling of 'Nubian' as 'Nubain', with a caption saying 'Can you trust this man?'. Reactions to this would mostly mocking Steelerplayer1.
Nondevelopment of election propaganda
Between the July and September 2020 elections, election propaganda would become more text-based, with the occasional piece of poster propaganda. This would result in the #propaganda discord channel facing complaints of looking like spam and being used for debate. After discussion, a timer was implemented to slow down the rate of how often someone could post election propaganda, with the time varying between 1 hour and 3 hours until twomoo1119 setting it as one hour, which it would remain for all elections after.
Rerise of political posters and videos
Post-September 2020, campaigning would see less spam type messages as a result of the timer that stopped election propaganda being used too often. Political videos especially would see a rise in usage by the likes of iamkeg in late 2020, often resulting in increased voter count as it attracted further voters. Towards the end of 2020, these videos would come into less use, however in 2021 videos such as "To Plushie_Foxy" and "Nubia's safety is at risk...".
