Nubia's safety is at risk... is a video that was produced by the campaign of gorkymoo1119 for the April 2021 Nubian election for the position of Minister of Foreign Affairs. It was published amid the campaigning for the elections, on the 27th March 2021. The video was created earlier in the election cycle, however due to a lack of competition wasn't used initially.
Background
Previous political advertisements
Gorkymoo1119, the candidate behind the advertisement, would often create videos/posters to promote his political campaign. A notable example of this would be during his February 2021 campaign for election for the Foreign Affairs position, in which he used a video that suggested his fellow candidate, Plushie_Foxy was unknown and inexperienced.
April campaign
Gorkymoo1119 would announce his candidacy on the 25th March 2021, without a short-lived contesting campaign by Thee_Boss. As a result of this, he didn't need to campaign much, however had prepared plans to create a campaign in the case of another candidate running against him. On the 27th March 2021, StarKiller1744 would register for the election, with gorkymoo1119 soon responding by creating a political advert.
Content
The video, using a basis from a campaign video used in the 1964 United States presidential election for Lyndon B. Johnson's campaign, showed a girl with the flag of Nubia, counting up from 1 to 9 as she picks picks daises. After reaching 8, another voice is heard counting down from 10, until a large explosion happens. The voice than suggests that 'these are the stakes' in the election, before a promotion appears that reads 'Vote Gorky' in a larger font, with another smaller line below it reading 'Stable Leadership'.
Usage
The video would be sent in the election propaganda channel 6 times, often with a caption further suggesting people vote for him. The video would continue to be used after StarKiller1744 pulled out of the election on the 28th March 2021, despite the fact that he lacked competition after.
Aftermath
Gorkymoo1119 would be elected as Minister of Foreign Affairs on the 2nd April 2021 without competition.
