December 2020 Nubia elections

The December 2020 Nubia elections were the elections for Minister positions in the nation of Nubia and the Second Nubian Empire. Voting for the elections started on the 30th of November and finished on the 1st of December, with campaigning starting on the 25th of November.
Prior to this election, the November 2020 elections had elected the same Ministers as those elected in the October elections. Some minor uproar about these results came due to the population changing, however this was minimal.
Much fighting came in the elections regarding the campaign of Wandering_Hero, with many endorsing voting against Wandering_Hero for any position in government.
Background
The Nubian elections take place monthly, with around 3 individuals running for each positions usually. In the elections prior, candidates Thee_Boss, StarKiller1744 and gorkymoo1119 had won landslide victories in first choice votes, and all Ministers elected in October 2020 were re-elected.
In the elections prior, little attempts were made for changing the candidates in the running due to the Nubian population feeling, for the most part, they had served their jobs well.
Issues
Major issues included the dispute over Nubian Arabia with Yemen, as a result of the Yemenis returning to the server after a period of inactivity, causing a minor decrease in relations between Nubia and Yemen. This issue concerned mostly the ministries of Municipal Development and Foreign Affairs, with the Nubians responding with the creation of Asir.
Another issue was regarding the recent large decrease in population, which had mostly seen another increase during late November as a result of the Nubians getting on their feet once more in recruiting. The Nubian nation was pushed to /n list 1.
The Sudanese Rebellion was also a concern for the Nubian population prior, with the concern Sudan may make a comeback. Due to conflicting activity times, little fighting had happened, with occasional fights such as the Siege of Dharug when possible.
Darya had also been recently created, with the elections going on there at the same time (which resulted in a government controlled by the Darya Sagar Party). Expansion of the pact and the purpose of the pact was a topic in the elections, with several Nubian incumbent Ministers and candidates contesting for Katib and Grand Vizier there.

Campaign
Background
In the two elections prior to the elections for December 2020, the same group of people had remained elected. The Minister of Municipal Development, gorkymoo1119 had also held that position for 5 elections, since the 2nd of July. StarKiller1744 had also held been elected Minister of Defence in 5 elections, however resigned midway through his August term after an impeachment inquiry was launched on him.
In the past month of Nubian government, several Ministers pulled back their affiliations to certain Nubian citizens. However, much political affiliation was gained after the founding of the Darya Pact, with endorsements being handed out for positions there.
Debate
On the 28th of November, twomoo1119, as Nubian Emperor, announced a planned debate about 3 and a half hours after the announcement (2am UTC on the 29th of November). Many candidates had pushed for this due to the success of it in the month prior's elections.
The announcement had 5 questions planned listed below, along with twomoo1119 saying there may be follow up questions:
- What will you do as minister?
- Where do you think Nubia will be 1 month from now?
- Who or what do you think the greatest threat to Nubia will be in the next month? How might we be able to combat it?
- How can we better assist citizens of the Nubian Empire living outside of Nubia proper?
- What do you believe the "next step" for Nubia should be?
All candidates attended at least one point in the debate, which lasted about an hour and a half. There was no clear gain from any candidate for Minister, other than more recognition of candidates cadenateyourtoes (running for Minister of Trade and Commerce as well as Minister of Foreign Affairs) and glennjerman (running for Minister of Municipal Development).
In the debate, one candidate was especially criticised and questioned, Wandering_Hero. This was in regards to their past actions. During the debate, they admitted they were not running seriously, but questions continued to be asked to them after that.

Aftermath
When the results of the election had been announced by twomoo1119, several Nubian Citizens voiced their concerns for having the exact same minister cabinet for another term which led to a belief that the election was rigged. Twomoo1119 addressed these concerns and assured that the election was 100% fair. He also stated that he would talk to the Ministers about this. This later led to the entire December 2020 Minister Cabinet to abstain from running in the January 2021 election race, but would still offer their endorsements and suggestions as to who to vote for.
