====Secretary of Social Services====
The '''Department of Social Services''', headed by the '''Secretary of Social Services''', was an executive department of the Government of Cascadia tasked with overseeing all government welfare and social services, including the CascAID program. While nominally retaining oversight over the nascent Recruitment Department's task of recruitment, it's primary focus became the implementation of social programs such as CascAID that had been previously under the authority of the Treasury. The department was established by the ''Social Services Department Organization Act'', which was signed into law by President EstiQT on January 28, 2023. The department was replaced by the Department of Labor & Recruitment in late July of that year.{{Leader_Office

=====Assistant Secretary of Social Services=====
The '''Assistant Secretary of Social Services''' advised and assisted the Secretary of Social Services in the supervision and direction of the Department of Social Services and its activities, and succeeded the secretary in their absence or unavailability. The Assistant Secretary of Social Services was appointed by the president with the advice and consent of the House of Representatives. Like other assistant secretaries, the Assistant Secretary of Social Services was not apart of the Cabinet. The position was nominally created on October 28, 2022 under the Department of Recruitment, however the only person to ever fill the role, AghastBlock, was appointed under the Department of Social Services. He left office on July 21, 2023 and its successor posts were officially abolished by the Judiciary Act of February 2024.

====Secretary of Labor & Recruitment====
The '''Department of Labor and Recruitment''', headed by the '''Secretary of Labor and Recruitment''', was an executive department of the Government of Cascadia responsible for labor coordination and oversight, activity, and Cascaid- the then-primate social program of Cascadia. A main focus of the department, and by extension the secretary, was recruitment and bolstering of the national population. It also oversaw activity programs and events, in order to build a community and promote player activity. The department was established as a reorganization of the Department of Social Services by the ''Labor & Recruitment Department Organization Act'' and became operational on July 30, 2023 after being signed into law by President Bachinuni.{{Leader_Office

====Secretary of Local Affairs====
The '''Department of Local Affairs''', headed by the '''Secretary of Local Affairs''', was an executive department of the Government of Cascadia responsible for community outreach and engagement, nation-town relations, recruitment initiatives, censuses, and town placement. It was established in the aftermath of a perceived inactivity and ineffectiveness of the Department of Labor & Recruitment. It was created by the ''Executive Organization Act of August 2023'', signed into law by President EmpressCorgo on August 27, 2023, and was abolished by the ''Judiciary Act of February 2024'', in which the entire department that had been a continuation of the original Department of Recruitment was abolished. Its powers were largely shifted to that of the Department of Defense, Department of the Interior, Treasury, or the Executive Office of the President. Its status as the "fifth department" in the cabinet was replaced by the Department of Justice, and its secretary's place in the presidential line of succession was replaced by the Attorney General of Cascadia.{{Leader_Office

=== Secretary of Territory ===
The '''Department of Territory''' was a executive department that briefly existed in the Government of Cascadia in late August 2023. The law which established the department, known simply as the ''Department of Territory Act'', was proposed by Vice President Akeboun as a way to address the ongoing threat of claimblock towns and a perceived lack of a concrete border to defend cascadian towns and citizens. It also granted the new department the ability to establish "Auxilliary Claim Towns" for special purposes under national jurisdiction, and granted the new Department of Territory authority over National Parks, a power previously exercised by the Department of the Interior. While it passed and was signed into law by President EmpressCorgo on August 22, 2023, it was repealed four days later. The reason for abolishing the young department was due to the perceived overlaps of authority with other departments, and the idea that the post would simply act as a sinecure. The department's powers were merged into the Department of Defense, of whom the only Secretary of Territory, Akeboun, was soon made Secretary of. | The '''Department of Territory''' was a executive department that briefly existed in the Government of Cascadia in late August 2023. The Cabinet of Cascadia is the chief executive body of the Republic of Cascadia. It is an advisory body consisting of the vice president of Cascadia and the heads of the executive departments of the national government of Cascadia. It is the principal official advisory body to the president of Cascadia. The president chairs the meetings but is not formally a member of the Cabinet. The heads of departments, appointed by the president and confirmed by the House of Representatives, are the members of the Cabinet.
The Cabinet does not have any collective executive powers or functions of its own, and no votes need to be taken. As of now, there are 5 department heads in the current Cabinet. The members of the Cabinet serve at the pleasure of the president, who can dismiss them at any time without the approval of the House. Like all federal public officials, Cabinet members are also subject to impeachment by the House of Representatives and trial for "treason, bribery, or other high crimes and misdemeanors".
The Constitution of Cascadia establishes the Cabinet in Article IV Section 3, authorizing the vice president, together with a majority of the heads of the executive departments, to declare the president "unable to discharge the powers and duties of their office". However, the Cabinet's real role, inferred from the language of the Opinion Clause (Article IV, Section 4) of the Constitution is to provide advice to the president on matters relating to their respective duties. The heads of the executive departments are eligible in the presidential line of succession. Until September 20, 2022, the Cabinet was referred to in legal documents as the Executive Council of Cascadia.
The incumbent and nineteenth cabinet of Cascadia, in office since January 21, 2024, is the third Setrus cabinet.
Current Cabinet and Cabinet-rank officials
The incumbent and 19th Cabinet of Cascadia (Setrus III) has been in office since January 21, 2024. It consists of the following members:

Vice President

The Vice President of Cascadia is the second-highest officer in the executive branch of the Government of Cascadia, after the president of Cascadia, and ranks first in the presidential line of succession. The vice president previously served as an officer in the legislative branch, as the President of the Legislature. In that capacity, the vice president was empowered to preside over House of Representatives deliberations at any time, but may not vote except to cast a tie-breaking vote, unless they are a directly elected member of the House of Representatives. Despite the replacement of that power with the office of Speaker of the House, the Vice President has retained the power to break ties if needed. The vice president is directly elected together with the president to a month-long term of office by the people of Cascadia via instant-runoff voting. Rocksthunder is the 17th and current vice president of Cascadia. He assumed office on January 21, 2024, after being elected together with Setrus in the January 2024 general election.

The Fifth Department
Secretary of Recruitment
The Department of Recruitment, headed by the Secretary of Recruitment, was an executive department of the Government of Cascadia that existed from September 9, 2022 to January 28, 2023. The position and department was established by the Recruitment Act of September 2022 of the first legislature, signed into law by President SayerQT on September 9, 2022. The department's objectives were set out in the Recruitment Act as "increasing recruitment and citizen retention in Cascadia." While the department did deliver on many of its objectives, to many it was seen as simply a sinecure, especially under the leadership of Secretary EstiQT. In January 2023, the department was repurposed into the Department of Social Services, with many of its powers expanded to include oversight authority previously under other departments, such as the Treasury.

Secretary of Social Services
The Department of Social Services, headed by the Secretary of Social Services, was an executive department of the Government of Cascadia tasked with overseeing all government welfare and social services, including the CascAID program. While nominally retaining oversight over the nascent Recruitment Department's task of recruitment, it's primary focus became the implementation of social programs such as CascAID that had been previously under the authority of the Treasury. The department was established by the Social Services Department Organization Act, which was signed into law by President EstiQT on January 28, 2023. The department was replaced by the Department of Labor & Recruitment in late July of that year.

Assistant Secretary of Social Services
The Assistant Secretary of Social Services advised and assisted the Secretary of Social Services in the supervision and direction of the Department of Social Services and its activities, and succeeded the secretary in their absence or unavailability.
Secretary of Labor & Recruitment
The Department of Labor and Recruitment, headed by the Secretary of Labor and Recruitment, was an executive department of the Government of Cascadia responsible for labor coordination and oversight, activity, and Cascaid- the then-primate social program of Cascadia. A main focus of the department, and by extension the secretary, was recruitment and bolstering of the national population. It also oversaw activity programs and events, in order to build a community and promote player activity. The department was established as a reorganization of the Department of Social Services by the Labor & Recruitment Department Organization Act and became operational on July 30, 2023 after being signed into law by President Bachinuni.

Secretary of Local Affairs
The Department of Local Affairs, headed by the Secretary of Local Affairs, was an executive department of the Government of Cascadia responsible for community outreach and engagement, nation-town relations, recruitment initiatives, censuses, and town placement. It was established in the aftermath of a perceived inactivity and ineffectiveness of the Department of Labor & Recruitment. It was created by the Executive Organization Act of August 2023, signed into law by President EmpressCorgo on August 27, 2023, and was abolished by the Judiciary Act of February 2024, in which the entire department that had been a continuation of the original Department of Recruitment was abolished. Its powers were largely shifted to that of the Department of Defense, Department of the Interior, Treasury, or the Executive Office of the President. Its status as the "fifth department" in the cabinet was replaced by the Department of Justice, and its secretary's place in the presidential line of succession was replaced by the Attorney General of Cascadia.

Secretary of Territory
The Department of Territory was a executive department that briefly existed in the Government of Cascadia in late August 2023. The law which established the department, known simply as the Department of Territory Act, was proposed by Vice President Akeboun as a way to address the ongoing threat of claimblock towns and a perceived lack of a concrete border to defend cascadian towns and citizens.
Early naming conventions
Preceding the first elections to held in Cascadia in August 2022 under the Provisional Constitution, Acting Head of State SayerQT promulgated a decree establishing several posts in the new constitutional Executive Council. These initial cabinet posts did not run formal departments, rather performed their duties directly through their office. These offices were:
- Treasurer
- Secretary of State
- Commissioner of Public Lands
- Commissioner of Public Defense
When the Executive Reorganization Act of September 2022 was passed and signed into law by President VIolentVampire on September 20, 2022, the names of just the Treasurer and Secretary of State were remained intact (although the secretary of state had its powers altered), and the posts of Commissioner of Public Lands & Defense became the secretaries of Interior and Defense respectively, heading newly established departments.
