Paper1emur (spawned January 8, 2023) is a Cascadian politician who served as the 12th president of Cascadia from March 17 to April 21, 2024 and again from August 30 to September 15 following the resignation of Paradox_1080. A mayor in the influental Johnstone Strait region of Lower British Columbia, he previously has and currently is serving as the 7th speaker of the Cascadia House of Representatives, and prior to his second presidency briefly served as the 17th vice president of Cascadia. He has largely been credited as the most significant figure in post-Osoyoosan Cascadian Conservatism.
Paper1emur first joined EarthMC on January 8, 2023, and soon after became a resident of the City of New Saigon, Cascadia, on the Western Coast of British Columbia. He later founded the town of Sullivan Bay, Cascadia, on July 11, 2023. The town, of which he became the mayor, is located on the Johnstone Strait, and neighbors the cities of Corgos' Pass, Victoria, Vancouver, and Port McNeill. Paper1emur's political career began when he joined the Cascadian discord and became a supporter of the October 2023 presidential re-election campaign of then-President EmpressCorgo.
Following the defeat of Flatvent_one's presidential bid and the vacancies in the House his supporters left after renouncing their citizenship, Paper1emur was elected to represent the Northern constituency in the special election held on October 26. A political newcomer, he campaigned on policies shared by the Corgo administration, such as Casgate, as well as being a strong proponent of the Cascruit system. He was endorsed by President Corgo, as well as several cabinet secretaries such as Milgorn123, Setrus, and Akeboun. During his time in the Legislature, he was a proponent of bills stimulating activity, and remained a strong advocate for strong social programs.
When president Akeboun announced his intention not to run for a second term in the December 2023 presidential election, Paper1emur announced his intent to run, with fellow northern representative and former Vice President Cheeseballfluffy as his running mate. His campaign centered on activity and citizen engagement. While initially poised by some to come second, if not first, against former President Setrus, he ended up coming third in the election, behind Setrus and Moxiocodone; however still garnered a considerable 23.1% of the vote, and won the first-preference vote in the Northern constituency.
Following the election, on December 21, 2023, Paper1emur was elected as the 7th speaker of the House by his peers, defeating fellow representative BlueBlock88. He is the first House speaker from an town geographically located in British Columbia.
In March of 2024, Paper1emur announced his bid for President yet again. This time his running mate was Setrus. He defeated Moxicodone in the polls with 53.85% of the vote. During his term, He promoted policies such as filling the national bank and improving the national guard. He did not run for re-election, and returned to the House of Representatives where he was re-elected Speaker twice. In August, Paradox_1080 announced his bid for the office of the President, choosing Paper1emur as his running mate. Paradox won the election, beating Ruffwoof with 80% of the vote. Paradox_1080 would go on to resign the office citing inactivity, and Paper1emur would be inaugurated once more as the 19th president of Cascadia. His short second presidency would oversee the end of the war with Texas, and despite a bid for re-election he came in third to Secretary of State Dracnoian, who succeeded him.
In April of 2025, Paper1emur annouced that he would be leaving the server and Cascadia. He left his Town to be managed by the Republic of Cascadia. After being the 12th & 19th President, the 7th Speaker of the House, as well as serving as a Representive from the North and Metro districts, Paper1emur retired to real life.
