The Six-Hour War was a military conflict fought between the Oregon Empire and the Republic of Cascadia on 7 October 2022. The conflict lasted around 6 hours, making it a uniquely short war for EarthMC. The immediate cause of the war was the declaration of war by Emperor Wdym__ of Oregon on Cascadia for Cascadian social programs being used to fund the expansion of the cascadian town of Yakima, which was within Cascadia's territory under the Treaty of Tomsk. Despite this, and with talks breaking down, the Oregonian nobility considered this a casus belli and declared war upon the Republic of Cascadia, led by president ViolentVampire, a former Oregonian.
Cascadian forces quickly responded by a mobilization of the National Guard of Cascadia, the nation's militia-army hybrid. Due to Cascadian alliances, many nations, including the United States of America, the Mexican Empire, the japanese superpower of Yamato, and neighboring nations of Alberta and Colorado, all joined in the war in defense of Cascadia. fruityboi_, then-Prime Minister of Alaska, founded a town on the outskirts of the oregonian capital of Salem, named "OregonSiegeTown", which after the war would be renamed Redmond. The declaration of war (one many believe was done in an attempt to gain popularity by Emperor Wdym, as he had only been on the throne for a couple weeks) ended up not being as popular with the Oregonian public as initially anticipated. The war ended up leading to the Mayor of Oceanside, Milgorn123, going to the Government of Cascadia and asking to be peacefully annexed. 4 hours after the war began, Oceanside was annexed, a major blow to Oregon, losing nearly 20% of its population in the process to the Republic of Cascadia.
With the annexation of Oceanside, the Oregonian government faced a desperate situation, and entered into negotations. However, while these negotiations occurred, the Cascadian government went about purchasing the Grand Duchy of Washington from future-Emperor BonKranch. The purchase of Washington was a final blow to Oregon, who sued for unconditional surrender 6 hours after the war began. The war ended in a conclusive Cascadian victory, cementing Cascadian dominance over the region, and leading to a period of decline for Oregon that would conclude with its annexation by the Republic of Cascadia just a few months later.
